Half Marathon & 10 Mile
The 2012 Half Marathon and 10-Mile Monster Dash course in St. Paul is fast, beautiful and entertaining. Did we say fast? You just might PR on this course which is all downhill (400 vertical feet total from start to finish -- to be exact)!
Combined with the beautiful fall foliage, the start of the race is spectacular! It begins at the picturesque Cathedral of St. Paul that overlooks the city. Participants will run the tree-lined course along historic Summit Avenue and finish in Downtown St. Paul at the Mighty Mississippi (See course info). The chip-timed race is USATF certified.
And if you can handle it-- challenge yourself to run the distance in costume! You could win our costume contest! But make sure you run with it on first-- we can guarantee fun but we cannot guarantee "no chafing".

Monster Dash 5K & 5K-9
The Monster Dash 5K & 5K-9 go around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. It will have a common start and finish. It will have the same course and all of the fun with friends and family as 2012.

Packet Pick-up Notes:
- All packets and gear for all distances will be available at Packet Pick-up on Friday, October 26th.
- 10-Milers and Half Marathoners must pick up their packets at packet pick-up.There will be no race-day packet pickup for the 10-Mile and Half Marathon. Please bring with you your photo ID and your bib number (posted on the website soon).
- If you cannot make packet pick-up, a friend or family member can pick it up for you. They need to bring a copy of your photo ID and your bib number.
5K & 5K-9 Only
You can pick up your packets either at Friday's packet pick-up or on race morning at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis
Packet Pick-up on Race Day: The 5K only WILL have race-day packet pick-up.

The Monster Dash Half Marathon and 10 Mile will be held in St. Paul. While the 5K and 5K-9 will be held in Minneapolis (scroll down to see 5K course information).
Monster Half Marathon & 10-Mile*
Start time: 8:30 a.m.
Start Location: St. Paul, MN (Race Village at John Ireland Blvd & Dayton/Marshall)
Half Finish Location: Upper Landing Park in St. Paul (Eagle Parkway and Shepard Road) No parking at finish.
10 Mile Finish Location: Near Elway and Shepard. No parking at finish (on-street a few blocks away)
Half Course open for 3 1/2 hours
10-Mile Course open for 2 hours, 45 minutes

Gear
The Monster Dash is coming quickly and our gear this year will help you be outfitted for fall and winter running!
The Half Marathon and 10-Milers will get a 1/4 zip long-sleeved performance shirt.
The 5K will get a long sleeved performance shirt; children will get a youth sized cotton t-shirt.
All finishers get a stained-glass medal.

Costume Contest
One of the most fun parts of the Monster Dash races is the funny and creative costumes that runners come up with. Some run the 5K -- while others run and entire 10-Mile or Half Marathon all decked out in their Halloween costume! We invite you to do the same (with one tip, you might want to practice running in it before race day)!

The Crowne Plaza is the the host hotel for packet pick-up and lodging for the Monster Dash Half Marathon and 10-Mile in St. Paul. The rooms are $109 a night on Friday, October 28 - 29. To ensure availability and price, please make reservations on or before Friday, October 7th, 2011.

*Please note the location of the Monster Dash Half Marathon and 10-Mile is in St. Paul and the 5K is in a beautiful lakes area (Lake Harriet) of Minneapolis. There are no hotels in the Lake Harriet vicinity. If staying at the Depot Hotel, and running in any of our races, you will need to arrange transportation to and from Lake Harriet.
Weather Policy
During Team Ortho events there is always the potential for extreme or severe weather conditions (for example: lightning, tornado, high winds, extreme hot or cold temperatures, blizzard, etc...). Team Ortho Foundation will do as much as we can to make the experience as safe as possible. But if there is severe weather, the race may be delayed as race officials consult public safety officers. If there is more than a reasonable delay, or if conditions persist, race officials reserve the right to shorten or cancel the race. Entry fees are non-refundable. Please check the website and your email before the race for any changes or cancellations. If you are already at the event, listen to the announcer about any weather changes that may occur.
